Student Research Consortium
What is SRC?
The Student Research Consortium is a platform designed specifically for students across all levels of higher education. All students (Bachelors, Masters and PhDs) are welcome to submit their research in the form of extended abstracts. Students in any HCI-related discipline are provided an opportunity to submit their papers and engage in discussions with experts from around the world. These consortiums are highly beneficial for early-stage research, as the discussions are focused, rigorous, and directly relevant to the participating students. Please note that, in this category, all the authors must be students at the time of the conference.
Why should I participate?
Student consortiums provide a supportive academic space where students can share their early research ideas and receive valuable feedback to develop their research further. These focussed discussions help the students enhance their work as they get insights into how to convert their design research projects into relevant research areas, select appropriate methods, navigate through literature, and understand academic writing. Eventually, constructive feedback from expert reviewers and diverse perspectives from the community may also open up new opportunities for students, potentially inspiring students to formalize their research into advanced degrees like MDes by Research or a PhD.
Additionally, the consortium serves as a valuable networking opportunity, enabling students to connect and collaborate with senior academicians and fellow researchers in the field of HCI.

Title
Abstract (~150 words) and keywords
Introduction
Background (context and motivation)
Research gaps and questions
Related work (pilot studies, case study, etc)
Methods (data collection, data analysis, design intervention including details of designed prototype/artefact, if any)
Preliminary findings (current status of the work)
Conclusion (limitations, scope for future work, etc.)
References
2. Explainer Video (Optional)
The authors may also choose to submit a supplementary video of duration up to 2 minutes (not exceeding 20 MB), to support a better explanation of their design intervention. This is optional and not an alternative to the paper submission. A working link to the video must be provided (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, Dropbox) without password-protection. Access must remain open for videos shared via online services such as Google Drive or Dropbox.
Video Format Specifications:
Maximum duration: 2 mins
Suggested minimum resolution: 1920 x 1080 px (HD)
Each submission will be evaluated through a single-blind peer-review process. Submissions will be reviewed by the chairs, a group of researchers and subject matter experts. The primary author of each accepted paper will receive detailed instructions on how to submit a final, publication-ready version of the paper. The paper will not be formally accepted to India HCI until the authors revise it and submit a final draft for approval by the programme committee.
Originality
The artwork must be original, unpublished and have rigour.
Authorship
All contributing authors must be students. Although AI tools such as ChatGPT can be safely used for editing author-generated content, their use in content generation is strongly discouraged. While we won't actively employ tools to identify text generated by any of the AI tools, we will investigate submissions brought to our attention. All authors are expected to take responsibility for any concerns regarding the accuracy or integrity of their submitted work.
